is an Cuban artistic director, Choreographer and dancer. Born in Havana, Cuba in 1978, to a legendary family of artists who have greatly influenced Cuban culture.
Yolena Alonso performed and choreographed with her Maestro Narciso Medina in Havana, her career blossomed at the time she was a member of the academy’s and dance company of him and she made her mark as a solist dancer and choreographer.
In 1999, she founded her own dance company, YOLDANCE, recruiting fresh Cuban dance school graduates. Creating more than 200 works for his own company, which trademark the soul of Cuba, in a dynamic play and uniquely experimental style.
Her productions include , “MAMBO CLUB”, “LA HABANERA”, “MAMA AFRICA” and “VIVA CUBA” which have premiered in great cities throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia and have been met with great public and critical acclaim – a testament to her talent.
